The CMIT-Lab

The Christian Doppler (CD)-Laboratory for Cardio-Metabolic Immunotherapy, in short the CMIT-Lab, is a public private partnership of the Medical University of Vienna and AFFiRiS AG to develop immunotherapeutic strategies against cardio-metabolic diseases.

In this cooperation, the CMIT-Lab at the Medical University of Vienna provides the basic research required to support product development in this area. Intensive communication facilitates knowledge transfer between academic and industrial partners. In addition, the CMIT-Lab has considerable freedom of research in the broader scientific area.

The partnership is facilitated by the Christian Doppler Forschungsgesellschaft and financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Economy, Family and Youth, and the Nationalstiftung für Forschung, Technologie und Entwicklung (National Trust for Science, Technology and Development).

The CMIT-Lab has started its activites in June 2011 and is supposed to continue until May 2018 with two interim evaluations.
